Introduction to Radio Broadcasting

$380 for a current Pulse Subscriber

The focus of this course is to introduce learners to the vocation of Radio Broadcasting. The program is delivered at 94.7 The Pulse community radio station. By the end of this course you will have the skills and knowledge to plan, produce, digitally edit and present a radio program. This may lead to an on-air or production role in Community radio or pathway into further accredited training or preaccredited training such as the Introduction to Sound Production. The course includes practical sessions in 94.7 The Pulse Radio Studio.

  • Places are limited to 12 students per course.
  • Course cost is $380 for a current Pulse Subscriber or $450 for a non-subscriber. An initial payment of 25% is required to secure a place ($95 for a current subscriber or, $112.50 for a non-subscriber)
  • Minimum 25% deposit is required 72 hours prior to course start date.
  • A student may cancel their course application up to 72 hours prior to course start date for a refund.
    A $50 administration cancellation fee applies when a student cancels their application.
    No Refunds will be given for cancellation within 72 hours of a course start date.
  • A student may transfer/defer their course payment to a later course, if more than 72 hours prior to the course they have applied and paid for. In this case, no administration fee applies for transferring.
    If transfer/defer request is made within 72 hours of course commencement date, a $50 administration fee applies.
  • 94.7 The Pulse reserves the right to postpone, change or cancel courses. No cancellation fee will apply if a student withdraws from a postponed course, provided notice of cancellation is given within 7 days of student receiving notification of new course dates.
  • If enrolments are less than 6 students, classes may be cancelled. Notification will be given 72 hours prior to start date. If cancelled by 94.7 the Pulse, then a full refund will be given, or fees may be transferred/deferred to a later course.
  • Students must be able to attend at least 80% of classes.
  • Additional practice studio hours will be required to be completed outside of class times. Studios may be pre-booked via reception 5222 5947 during business hours.
