Improve your employment opportunities and enhance your community involvement. This course prepares learners who have a permanent cognitive impairment/intellectual disability with skills that are essential for the work place.

The 22302VIC – Certificate I in Work Education supports learners with permanent intellectual disabilities to develop skills to explore work options and access pathways to further  vocational education and training. The course assists learners to develop their employability skills and work readiness.

At You Turn at The BASE we understand that work readiness and employability skills are key tools to have and we tailor our programs to assist people develop and enhance these skills for preparation into the workforce.

We offer a hands-on approach to the 22302VIC – Certificate I in Work Education.

Our Work Education program is suitable for students who have an interest in trades and enjoy practical learning and are wanting to pathway into pre-apprenticeships or employment.

You will learn basic reading, writing, numeracy and employability skills and you will have the opportunity to be introduced to three different trades: carpentry, mechanics and spray painting.

YouTurn at The BASE offers an alternative to other foundation programs as we focus on communication, building on peoples strengths and life skills for independence.

Our program is suitable for people who have a cognitive disability and who have left secondary education or people who meet the criteria for current secondary students.

Our Work Education program runs over 3 days per week for 12 months.
