CHC40213 Certificate IV in Education Support

Do you desire to make a difference to children’s lives? This qualification will start you on your way to supporting and assisting students in a range of educational settings. This course will open opportunities for further studies in education and career development.
Those who successfully complete this qualification may work in roles such as Support Worker (working with
children with disabilities), Teachers’ Aide, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Education Workers or Indigenous Language and Culture Teaching Assistants.
Course Structure
The course includes a classroom component, off-campus study components and industry placement. Assessment is based on competency, which is the ability to demonstrate specific skills and will involve a combination of assessment methods. These assessments can include written assignments, discussion, interviews, workplace projects and practical demonstrations.

Foundation Skills Assessment
Although there are no entry requirements for the qualification, applicants will be assessed for suitability by using the Foundation Skills Assessment. This will help us to identify any potential barriers or help us determine whether you require extra support for your studies.
The Foundation Skills Assessment will focus on English language, literacy and numeracy skills as well as employability skills.
Entrance Requirements
There are no prerequisites for this course, however to gain entry into CHC40213 Certificate IV in Education Support, applicants are requested to:
- Attend a course information session
- Complete a written application
- Satisfactory completion of a literacy assessment
- Attend an interview to appraise your ability to meet the selection criteria.
- Satisfactory completion of a literacy assessment
