Additional Information

Induction before you start the course

You will be given a formal induction at the beginning of your course. Important details are further communicated in the Learner Handbook.

There is a formal induction checklist that you will be taken through and at the end of induction you will be asked to sign the checklist to verify that you understand the details, including competency based assessment and reasonable adjustment, assessment methods, due dates and delivery requirements, surveys and the complaints/appeals process.

Alongside this there are also worksite inductions conducted if you are participating in placement as part of your training.

Work Placement

It is noted that the formal practical placement is deemed to be mandatory for the adequate completion of this course, as parts of the assessment can only be carried out in a workplace. Practical Placement is also considered essential for further job prospects. Diversitat will assist learners to gain a placement.

Hours for practical placement can be assessed on an individual basis as it is recognised that some learners may already be working in the industry in some capacity and may not require the full hours of placement to show the agreed levels of proficiency and competence. This will be determined by Diversitat staff and the learner on a case-by-case basis, ensuring that all aspects of the qualification are properly assessed for competency.

Placement is generally undertaken in a 3-4 week block at the end of the course, Monday to Friday during business hours (in some instances this may be negotiable on an individual basis).

Issuing Certificates

On successful completion, participants will be awarded CHC22015 Certificate II in Community Services. For unit completion only, a Statement of Attainment will be awarded.
