All our courses will give you the grounding you need to work within the community sector and enable you to provide activities to assist individual and family functioning.
Our Community Services courses include CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services, CHC42015 Certificate IV in Community Services and CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services. Successful completion of any of these courses will give you the skills and knowledge needed to gain employment in the Community Sector.
For example, once you have successfully completed the CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services, you’ll be able to undertake entry level roles under direct supervision.
Certificate IV in Community Services
The CHC42015 Certificate IV in Community Services is aimed to help you to design and deliver programs that will enhance the wellbeing of both individuals and groups within the community. This particular course is ideal for those of you who are already working within the industry but need to formalize your skills.
It’s also suitable for Community workers who need to upgrade their qualifications. As with the Certificate III, there will be a classroom component, off-campus study component and a workplace placement, with competency based assessments via a range of mediums.
For community workers who are working or wish to work in managerial roles, our CHC52015 Diploma in Community Services is the next natural progression. This course will help you to gain an understanding of more strategic aspects of the industry, and teach you how to deliver person-led services to the community.
Community Services Specialised Courses
If you’re planning to specialize in a particular area of Community Services, we offer courses for working with people with disabilities, mental health issues, or within the youth sector.
- The CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability will give you the grounding you need to provide training and support for people with disabilities both in a community setting and within the clients’ own homes.
- For people who want to work with people affected by mental illness and/or Alcohol and Drug issues, the CHC43315 Certificate IV in Mental Health or CHC43215 Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs courses will enable you to provide self-directed recovery oriented support by implementing community-based programs and activities which focus on mental health and mental illness or work with clients experiencing drug and alcohol issues.
- After achieving the CHC43315 Certificate IV in Mental Health or CHC43215 Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs course, further study can be undertaken via the CHC53315 Diploma of Mental Health, or the CHC53215 Diploma of Alcohol and Other Drugs dual course. This course which will give practitioners a grounding in counseling, referral, advocacy and education/health promotion services.
- If your interests lie in working with young people, the CHC40413 Certificate IV in Youth Work will help you to develop your care planning and communication skills and give you the knowledge and experience you need to facilitate co-operative behavior with young people. You’ll learn how to address the social, health, welfare, developmental and protection needs of our young people by utilizing a variety of community-based programs.
