If you’re the kind of person who is caring and compassionate and you have an affinity with older people, our affordable aged care courses could be the first step to a rewarding career providing care and support to clients in their own homes and residential care settings.

Aged Care Training

One of Geelong’s largest and most respected Registered Training Organisations, Diversitat have been training people since 1997. Our qualifications in aged care training are nationally recognised across Australia, and each aged care course is delivered by our specialists and skilled trainers.

  • We offer courses to suit all levels of experience, including the certificate II in aged care and certificate III in aged care, and CHC43015 certificate IV in Ageing Support. We also offer leisure and health courses and health services assistance.
  • All our aged care and health services courses involve practical experience via work placements. If you’re not currently employed in aged care, we will help you to find suitable placements in order for you to complete your practical work and assessment tasks in the workplace.
  • Furthermore, many of our courses can either be studied during the day or as night courses to fit in with your existing commitments.

Aged Care Certificates

If you’re planning to study aged care you need to start with Certificate II in Community Services. This qualification will enable you to successfully integrate into a range of different communities and give you the skills you need to better care for the older people in those communities.

The nationally recognised CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community and Disability streams) will help you to gain the skills you need to operate as a care worker or as support staff in a residential aged care facility.

While you can access the Cert III aged care directly, it is better to undertake this course with some practical experience under your belt. Most students study for the cert 3 aged care in order to formalise their qualification.

Health Services Courses & Training

For care workers who wish to advance further in the care industry, we also offer the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support. This qualification is aimed at carers and support workers who are required to complete specialised tasks and functions, whether they work within a care home setting or in the community.

It’s also a stepping stone for those people who wish to progress to further study, such as Nursing Diplomas or who intend to specialise in one of the Health sectors. The course is made up of classroom study, off-campus study and placements within the aged care sector, with assessments being competency based.
